The pictures shown are Monoprints or mixed media.

From an early age the colours, shapes, symmetry, and stages of development of plants and flowers have inspired me.

The marks created with Monoprinting are characteristically different from those drawn or painted directly onto paper. |
I am also inspired by textiles, especially the manipulation of, and application of surface colour and pattern.
A variety of tones and textures can be created, therefore an almost textile quality can be achieved. No two prints are alike, although images can be similar. |
Currently I am exploring this through Monoprinting as this media encourages spontaneity, and is a combination of printmaking, drawing and painting.

I find vintage textile designs, especially those of the 1950's, particularly interesting. This is reflected in some of my work. |
